im wondering how many ppl with dial up r gonna complain about the new build...
i, myself, has dial up, and it took me about an hour and a half to dl the 12 mb build, then to get in the game, i have to load the map, which requires 1334 files(in augury)... so how do i fix this? cuz im not gona wait 2 days just to load a map... or is guildwars closed now till spring for the expansion pack?

When you first enter after a big patch/build. The initial stream will be huge, but after each updated area should not be very big at all.

Look on it as a chance to take care of those "chores" that you usually do on the weekend. I can guess it's just going to be GW, GW , GW over the next few days
I have dial up too and cringe at the number of files that need to be downloaded. |

First off not every map is 50MB thats just a silly exaggeration. Sorrows Furnace wasn't 50MB. In fact GW is one of the smallest 3D game clients you could download. Hell, the next time I activate my Lineage account I am facing a 150MB episode update. Now that is huge. If you download Open Office you're looking at 97MB download. Many downloads are fricken huge. Just deal with it and realize your connection sucks and plan for it. PS: I'm on dial-up. I don't get anywhere near 56k. I am usually transferring around 40K bps. Oh well. Maybe I can get some work done instead of playing. |

Any Online game nowadays is not nice to dial-up.
Basically what everyone is saying, is that, you only have to download the files once . That way, your next visits to Tyria/Cantha are more smoother. A map is as little as 1 meg to download. Not that much. And if you have to wait long, play with your buddy for a while. That didn't come out right . |

Once you pick up chapter 2 via store (not just buying the cd-key on-line) you will have cd that have most of the files you can't get now (SF, new login GUI and most of the chapter 2 files).
Not everyone lives in an area where broad band is an option. |
